Book Binding Project - Ovid's Metamorphoses

This project was done for my Editorial Design class. The goal of the project was to take a book of my choosing and redesign the dust jacket, page layout, chapter opener spreads, and more.

Having studied Latin in high-school, I chose to redesign Ovid's Metamorphoses and redesign it to be suitable for a Latin student attempting to translate the stories within. I also wanted to make design more illustrative to appeal to a younger audience. In order to do so, I designed full illustrations for each chapter opener.

Design Week Project

This was one of the first projects for my Editorial Design class. For this project we had to come up with a design campaign for theDesign Week
theme "EVOLVE".

The theme instantly reminded me of Darwin's study on finches and the evolution of their beaks. I decided to create my design campaign around the idea of the birds of Saint Louis: Bluebirds, the Missouri state bird; Cardinals, the Saint Louis Cardinals sports team; and, Bobwhite Quail, the Missouri state game bird.
